Andrea Desirée Rabanales de la Roca is a doctoral candidate in constitutional law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina; she holds a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales of Madrid, Spain; a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the Universidad del Istmo, Guatemala; and a Bachelor’s degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the Universidad de San Carlos, Guatemala.
She has worked as a legal advisor to the Constitutional Court of Guatemala; as a specialist in courts of justice for USAID’s Security and Justice Program; as an advisor on legislative drafting for the National Competitiveness Program of the Guatemalan Ministry of Economy; and as director of administrative procedure analysis for the General Secretariat of the Guatemalan Presidency.
She was a fellow of the International Visitors Leadership Program on transparency and the fight against corruption, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the Carolina Foundation.
She has been consultant on constitutional law, anti-corruption, and human rights, and undergraduate and graduate instructor at Universidad Rafael Landívar and Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala.
