Diana Chacon, Be Just Board Member

Diana Chacón is an Ecuadorian lawyer based in Portugal who is committed to building financial systems that are fairer, more equitable, and people-centered. Her work focuses on analyzing and strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks that protect consumers and ensure transparency and accountability in financial markets.

With experience advising governments in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, Diana supports reform processes aimed at improving market conduct supervision and promoting regulations that respond to local contexts, without losing sight of the principles of equity, protection, and dignity. Her work incorporates a feminist and intersectional perspective, from which she advocates for public policies that expand opportunities for women and historically excluded populations.

Before becoming an independent consultant, Diana worked as a market conduct regulator at the U.S. Federal Reserve and also has experience in commercial banking. She currently serves on the boards of several organizations, where she contributes her legal expertise, ethical approach, and commitment to transparent and participatory governance models.

Diana holds a Master’s degree in Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a law degree from the University of Cuenca, Ecuador.
